Visit a URL List

The URL List feature turns a repetitive capture session into a hands-off one. Give DGBrowser a list of pages — for example, the profile pages of your top hundred matches — and it visits each one in turn, staying on every page long enough for its data to load and be captured, then moving on to the next.

Running a list

  1. Sign in first. Visit the testing site normally and make sure you're signed in — the automated visits use your existing session, so pages behind a login only capture if you're logged in.
  2. Click URL List… in the toolbar.
  3. Paste your URLs into the box, one per line. Blank lines are skipped, and lines starting with # are treated as comments — handy for labeling sections of a long list. You can also click Load from file… to load the list from a plain text file.
  4. Set how many seconds to stay on each page. The default of 10 suits most pages; use a longer wait for pages that load a lot of data (large shared-match lists, for instance) or on a slow connection.
  5. Click Start.

DGBrowser works through the list in the current tab. The status bar shows progress (URL list 3/100: capturing…), and the toolbar button becomes Stop (3/100) — click it at any time to stop the run. A page that fails to load is skipped after a note in the status bar; it doesn't stop the run.

Keep browsing while it runs. The list runs in the tab where you started it. Open another tab with + and continue browsing — even capturing from another site — while the list works through its pages.

Notes

  • Your list and wait time are remembered, so you can reopen the dialog later and rerun or continue an edited version of the same list.
  • Addresses without https:// are fine — DGBrowser adds it.
  • Visiting the same page twice is harmless: capture writes update existing rows rather than creating duplicates.
